In addition to game shows, I also collect TVGuide magazine. On April 3, 1953, the first national issue was published, with Lucy and her baby on the cover. The issue dated October 9, 2005 was the 2741st issue, and the last digest-size issue before the reformatting of the magazine. Of those 2741, I've managed to accumulate 2521 of them, but would eventually love to have every issue. In recent years, TVGuide has also published many issues with multiple covers - such as NFL, Gone With the Wind and Beatles issues. I've got about 100 of the multiple covers but am missing many of those.

TV Guide had about 160 different local editions around the US. Here is a listing of the editions I have (some may have only been in print for a short time, or may have been replaced by other editions serving that area). How did I get so many? Several ways - from subscription; from traveling to those areas; having friends or relatives who traveled there; trading issues with other collectors (I will also trade game shows for older issues); or even buying older issues from various sources.


The year listed is the most recent issue I have of each edition. I hope to add extra stuff to this page as soon as possible.

Beginning Jan. 1, 1977, the issue of TV Guide sold in Canada was different than the US issue due to ridiculous government regulations. I managed to collect them all from 1977 to early 1993, and have around 75% of the issues since then. Here are my Canadian editions:
